Fome Beach, Ilhabela

4.4
#9 of 51 in Outdoors in Ilhabela
Ilhabela means "Beautiful Island", and Fome Beach is one of its most beautiful spots, with green water, lush scenery, and warm white sand. This beach is accessible by boat only, and out of 41 beaches on the island, it is one of the more isolated ones, offering you privacy and peace away from the usual tourist hustle and bustle. This archipelago is called "the capital of sailing'" for good reason, as the calm waters and strong winds between the main island and the continent favor many nautical sports, such as sailing, kitesurfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. You can also choose a more relaxing activity, like fishing or birdwatching. • Is flex boat, speedboat, schooner or boat if you're a tourist pays every penny spent to visit this beach. With a beautiful view and transparent waters is mandatory for visitors to Ilhabela. Ask caipirinha of Tangerine in the beach kiosk and look for trusted companies to carry out the tour. But be sure to visit, not to be missed!

  • the place only has access by sea. The ride is already worth the investment, and still dock at this location is a gift. There has only 1 small tent with portions, which is not cheap, I recommend take a cooler with drinks and snacks if possible. Take slippers, beach sand is thick, and worry a lot.

  • Unparalleled beauty, beach access only by boat. Small band of sand, so I recommend just a visit, it's not that ideal beach for the day, especially on account of the black flies which take account of the piece.

Where to stay in Ilhabela

With much of the island protected against overdevelopment, all but a handful of accommodations are found on the western coast of Ilhabela. There, upscale hotels with plenty of private grounds lie to the north or south of the main town. Look in the town itself for the main budget-friendly options, with characterful pousadas (guesthouses) the most popular option. The island can be pretty busy during peak seasons (especially summer, December to March), so booking ahead is essential. With the mainland so close, you can easily hop on the ferry back to Sao Sebastiao to sleep.
