Lopes Mendes Beach, Ilha Grande

(4.7/5 based on 4,400+ reviews on the web)
On an island world-famous for over 100 beaches, Lopes Mendes Beach stands out with its 3 km (1.9 mi) of white fine sand. The water remains quite shallow a long way out, providing visitors with nearly perfect surfing conditions. Frequently ranked among the world’ most stunning beaches, this long strip of warm sand can be reached from the main settlement on the island by a short boat ride, followed by a hike up a relatively steep footpath. Walk through the lush island vegetation to get some exercise and prepare yourself for a refreshing dip in the crystalline waters. Before hitting the trail, remember to bring lots of water, bug repellent, and a good flashlight, as darkness descends rapidly under the thick forest canopy. • A long, beautiful beach with pure white sandy. The walk from the Abraao beach of Lopes Mendes took a couple of hours. Some of us had hiking shoes, some flip flop. The trail is well marked all the way. You pass two fine beaches where it goes (went) to buy water and snacks mm. The distance before you come to the first fine beach is the toughest. If you want to enjoy the beaches, start early! We took the boat back to the Abraao Beach, cost 15 R per person. We didn't see any monkeys on this stretch but saw beautiful butterflies, lizards and a long large snake that streaked at a tree. A great nature experience!

  • Then, the beach is nice, but compared to other beaches we passed, I would say that is not among my favorites ... The sea pulls enough, so beware those who drink or go with children. Another thing: the trail is not so short, and has many climbs and decide, which leaves the words a bit irksome. For me, it was worth the NAP in the shade ... and only! Lol the picture is the point of arrival of the ship not the beach of lopes Mendes, ok? ;)

  • The Lopes Mendes beach can be accessed from a trail of about 20 minutes. Is a beach very thorough, surrounded by vegetation and sea very clear and clean. Is a beach quite frequented, had a few stalls selling some snaks but has no kiosk structure. Had to save lives! Well, it's a nice beach, but if you have little time, I don't think it needs to be a priority.
