Abraao Beach, Ilha Grande
(2.6/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Take a boat or hike up to Abraao Beach, located in the largest village (only 1900 residents) on an island of few roads and almost no private cars. Right next to this secluded beach you can buy cold drinks and listen to live music, performed by village bands on popular BBQ nights. Make a stop here to enjoy fresh fish straight from the grill, along with juices, cocktails, and ice cream made with local fruit. This beach is popular with swimmers, kayakers, snorkelers, divers, and bodyboarders. Equipment for all water sports can be rented nearby. From the pier you can board a boat or ferry to Mangaratiba, where you can catch a daily connection for Rio de Janeiro. • Normally the port Beach destination for those coming from the Mainland to the big island, she has some infrastructure for those who want to pose and shopping as well, depending on the week, have some bars. But it's not very pleasant for bathing due to pollution of the holds of ships.

  • Despite the time and weather have been inviting for a swim, and in my two-day stay in big island don't have even stepped on the beach I could feel, live and experience the atmosphere of the place. Both the night as day. The village of Abraham is the gateway to the island. It is also the main town of the island, where the main restaurants and guesthouses. It is a clean and well decorated Village. The traffic of vehicles on the island is limited to supervisory Bodies. Are very rare. But on the streets of the village have not seen any. Even for tourists who go there will be obliged to leave their cars in Creeks, Mangaratiba or bracui. However, if you pay attention to the days and times of Ferries, and or speedboats, schooners and boats. And where they leave. This is a script for eco adventure. For a place that I intend to return to do what was meticulously planned, but that could not be carried out due to unforeseen issues with weather and climate. In my travels I will avoid trips to the Southeast between the months of September to December, because of the constant rain. I hope I helped. Good ride!
