Abraao Beach, Ilha Grande

(2.4/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Take a boat or hike up to Abraao Beach, located in the largest village (only 1900 residents) on an island of few roads and almost no private cars. Right next to this secluded beach you can buy cold drinks and listen to live music, performed by village bands on popular BBQ nights. Make a stop here to enjoy fresh fish straight from the grill, along with juices, cocktails, and ice cream made with local fruit. This beach is popular with swimmers, kayakers, snorkelers, divers, and bodyboarders. Equipment for all water sports can be rented nearby. From the pier you can board a boat or ferry to Mangaratiba, where you can catch a daily connection for Rio de Janeiro. • Person on the beach because it is the anchor of the taxi boats. And, a bit dirty with droppings of gasoline and oil.

  • Beach with too much oil to have boats anchored. Faecal sewage are directed by a water ditch in plain sight of bathers. A shame that such a beautiful place should be more well-treated.

  • The beach is not good for bathing, by the amount of boats moored near the sand and the water is not clean but the location is perfect for relaxing, sitting on the chairs of the restaurants that are on the edge (some with the tables in the sand), to enjoy the stunning landscape of the site.
