Velha Boipeba Beach, Ilha de Boipeba
Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
The largest village on the island of Boipeba, Velha Boipeba Beach (Old Boipeba) is traditionally a fishing community, although tourism has played an increasing role in its economy in recent years. The architecture of the village is bright and colorful, with many house fronts adorned with flowers. Admire the 17th century Church of the Holy Spirit, visit the natural pools, take a canoe trip up the Inferno River, or simply relax at the nearby beach. How to get? Journey isn't exactly fast or easy to do, but I assure you that it is worth 100% we went directly from el salvador, there are some who will stay to the nose and then make the excursion, we prefer to go directly because it seemed to be a destination much more quiet. From el salvador, taxi to Ferry Boat São Joaquim [R$ 15/20 from Pelourinho] and from there crossing to the island of Itaparica [Bom Despacho]. The ferry leaves all hours, important to be 30 minutes earlier, more than anything in the morning, since become long queues of people at the ticket and they may buy your ticket to spend [R$ 4.40 per person]. The trip takes an hour and go to Bom Despacho. From Bom Despacho go to Valença in a collective/Micro, that is coordinated with the ferry [R$ 24 per person]. Takes approximately 2 hours, and is going to leave the Terminal Rodoviária de Valença [can also leave them before, a few blocks from the waterways where the boats depart and go walking]. From the terminal they can go by taxi to the pier, they are R$ 12/15 MAX, do not pay more than that, always asking the price before you get into the taxi. They can then take the boat from Dattoli, which leaves approximately every 2 hours in September [R$ 44 per person] who is going to leave after an hour away in Boipeba. They have the option to return, which I do NOT recommend unless you already know that day and time will return. On the island, they can walk into the village, the people are very helpful. Important to know that in this time of the year the sun rises 5:00 AM but night falls from 5:00 PM, and the people it used to have dinner and sleep early. Very few places for dinner are up to 10 PM. You can also make a tour around the island, in where they are going to be able to go to natural pools with coral, island Castellanos and others, takes 5 hours approximately and leaves around R$ 100. To return, we did exactly the same route with speedboat / collective and Ferry, take into account the collective sale until 6:00 / the ferry until 9:00 PM and 7:00 PM [approximate schedule], ideally leave early to be sure to return to Salvador without staying in the middle. In conclusion, an island very nice that we will surely return. I hope serve them!show original
