Morere, Ilha de Boipeba

4.9
#1 of 11 in Things to do in Ilha de Boipeba
Part of the archipelago town of Cairu, Morere is a true beach paradise, only reachable by boat or by a local-run tractor ride. Once there you will find white sand, surrounded by mangroves and rainforest, home to a small fishing village as well as several camping grounds. The water is crystal clear, and perfect for snorkeling, with many reefs and deeper pools. Considering its isolation, you might expect it to be difficult to find food at Morere, but snacks and drinks are sold from boats at the ocean pools, and with the proximity of the fishing village, an abundance of seafood is available. • We were staying in Boipeba, we take an ATV (taxi) 10 reais per person (each ATV takes two people). We were on the beach in Moreré, sea lagoon type, many boats moored. We didn't do but eat dip in a beach in front of the Inn of the winds where has the best crab cakes I've ever had. Next has Bainema Beach, a daughter of 10 minutes closed by beautiful hibiscus.

  • Moreré is one of the most beautiful beaches of the island. Sea water has an inviting temperature and the beach huts have delicious foods.

  • Beautiful beach, even more rustic to Boipeba. Has the natural pools where you can dive with fish.

  • Magical place. Transparent water, interesting people and always good music on new year's Eve.

Where to stay in Ilha de Boipeba

Almost the entirety of the accommodations on this happily undeveloped island are located in the main town in the north east. Pousadas (guesthouses) possessing a traditional, rustic charm represent the most common accommodation type in the town, with facilities as basic as you would wish from an island still retaining a certain idyllic sense of days gone by. A couple of budget options can be found in the village, with camping grounds one of the possibilities for budget-conscious travelers. A couple of other accommodations can be found in more remote areas, and will certainly need to be booked in advance.
