Buracao Falls, Ibicoara
(5/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
As you emerge, swimming from the narrow canyon, you are faced with a stunning 80 m (262 ft) drop of water from above. Surrounded by huge circular cliffs resembling a big hole, Buracao Falls is an awesome phenomenon and your reward for a long trek through the lush Parque Natural Municipal do Espalhado. Guides will lead you along Rio Espalhado, where you will see some impressive landscape. They will provide you with life jackets when you reach your destination. Once in the cool, black pool, you can swim around and climb the rocks behind the curtain of water. The experience is exhilarating. As you leave, you will pass two viewpoints where you can observe the fall from above and be impressed a second time round. Be sure to pack your own provisions as you won’t find any shops, just beautiful, untouched nature. Arrange your visit to Buracao Falls and discover more family-friendly attractions in Ibicoara using our Ibicoara trip builder.

  • If you are the Chapada, mainly Mucugê, Andaraí or Igatu, this tour is a must. Mucugê to Ibicoara, drive, will be 50 minutes/1:00. Necessarily need to hire a guide (in the Centre of Ibicoara several), which will cost on average $40/head. Later, clay track and 1:00 more 1:00 of the trail by foot, average difficulty. Have to pay to enter (R$15,00/head, child up 10 years don't pay). Despite the 3:00 to arrive and leave, there you will have the most incredible 2:00 of the Chapada.

  • After a trail, you arrive at the place where diving with vest. That can't feel more ice water. Nothing a small path until you reach a big hole with its fall of 100 metres. You can go there and do a back massage. Take beautiful photos (gopro) and then the rocks admiring the place and getting some Sun.

  • The waterfall lets anyone open-mouthed, is without equal. The trail is mostly flat, but has a few snippets of stairs and other descents. It's not hard to do, but it takes around 1:00 to get to the waterfall. To get to the fall, it is necessary to pass through the stone canyons, either by water or by stones if you're brave enough to pass across high and close that account only with the aid of a steel cable. I went by water that is very quiet. The use of life jackets are required and the same are provided when you get in the water from the entrance of the Canyon. Lightweight waterproof camera, you'll want to register this place. If you don't, you can be q your guide have a bag to take your machine/waterproof cell phone as mine had. The beauty of the access is only surpassed by the fall of the waterfall. Magical and unforgettable! I heard only after that you can access the back of the fall climbing the sides. There is also an equally impressive lookout to be visited. From there you can see all fall from above the falls.
