Buracao Falls, Ibicoara

5.0
As you emerge, swimming from the narrow canyon, you are faced with a stunning 80 m (262 ft) drop of water from above. Surrounded by huge circular cliffs resembling a big hole, Buracao Falls is an awesome phenomenon and your reward for a long trek through the lush Parque Natural Municipal do Espalhado. Guides will lead you along Rio Espalhado, where you will see some impressive landscape. They will provide you with life jackets when you reach your destination. Once in the cool, black pool, you can swim around and climb the rocks behind the curtain of water. The experience is exhilarating. As you leave, you will pass two viewpoints where you can observe the fall from above and be impressed a second time round. Be sure to pack your own provisions as you won’t find any shops, just beautiful, untouched nature. • Ride of a lifetime. The city of Lençós are some 250 km until Ibicoara (3:00 drive), plus track 1:00 to reach the waterfall. The trail is not difficult, but there's a lot of uphill on the way back. Upon arriving at the end of the trail it is compulsory to wear a vest to cross a small Rapids and get ahead of the waterfall. How not to swim, even with me not vest risked getting close, because he was very strong in the day due to recent rains. The waterfall is awesome, worth visiting. If you don't want to go back and forth on the same day, you can schedule a night or some nearby town or Igaraçu halfway. We left Sheets at 6:00 in the morning and come back at 7 P.M..

  • Situated 28 kilometers from Ibicoara drive on dirt road, many reliefs as it is between the mountainous region of the Chapada Diamantina, more or less 1 hour drive there and more 1 hour 3 track kilometers walk by ups and downs and many stones wooden stairs and rocks to get down to the waterfall. The index of difficulty is considered Moderate by the magazine Guide of Chapada Diamantina and really not easy, more worth all the effort to get there to enjoy close this wonderful Waterfall which is considered the most beautiful of Brazil. It is also essential to hire a guide to accompany the path is full of turns and can get lost out there.

  • A 3.5 Km walk, relatively quiet until near the waterfall, when it starts a steep descent and with a lot of stones. It's not the program indicated for those with knee problems, for example. Getting there, is sensational. A program that includes a small fluctuation with vests for a unforgettable bath. The return requires a bit of conditioning for the steep climb. The waterfall itself is a waterfall of 90 meters, between stone walls, beautiful and amazing! Attraction of international level, without a doubt. We went with the Guide Alessandro (+ 55 (77) 98135-6624), very professional.
