Moinho Povos Unidos, Holambra

#1 of 12 in Things to do in Holambra
Specialty Museum Museum
Moinho Povos Unidos is the largest mill in Latin America, which is a perfect replica of the Dutch windmills, and still in function. It serves as a landmark of the Dutch colonization of the city in terms of the architecture and the size of the building, but using wood native to the region. The gorgeous flowers surrounding it are also quite typical of the Dutch style. Inside, you will find a collection of photos and information from other mills. You will also receive a history lesson and see a demonstration of how the food is processed. The view from the top is magnificent. • Surprising ride. The mill is very well maintained and on the top floor is a very nice man explaining how the system works of moeção and still plays beautifully a Accordion. Worth the trip!!

  • Outside the season of flowers, the best place to visit is the mill, where you can take nice photos and meet the mill inside paying some R $10.00 per person. Particularly because I thought I didn't get to meet him outside was enough.

  • The entrance to the third floor is free of charge, to the top costs R $10.00. Outside's handicraft market. Beautiful place to take pictures

  • What: Holland type windmill Where: Holambra, outskirts of São Paulo How was it: It was nice. A quiet place in the small city of Holambra. We visited the artisanal center just in front of the windmill. Some of our friends went up the windmill for a nicer view of the city. Recommend: Yes, it's a nice thing to do when in Holambra
  • This is one of the few tourism attractions with an European style around Campinas. The view from the top of the windmill is gorgeous. Do not forget to chat a little with the friendly local guides. They have great histories about Holambra culture and great insights about the engineering tricks of the mill. Tickets are at a reasonable cost and the parking spaces are very well located.
  • Very good place if you have opportunite pass by in restaurant The Old Dutch
  • Good place to visit and to help community to make the windmill works back again. Good view from upper floor!
  • Very nice place. Very traditional place and similar to the ones in Holland.
