Pico Alto, Guaramiranga

#1 of 6 in Things to do in Guaramiranga
Looming above the smallest town of the northeastern state of Ceará is Pico Alto, the highest mountain in the region. At 1,114 meters (3,655 ft), the peak is part of the Serra de Baturité, home to a diverse community of plants and animals. Trek to the top for a panoramic view of the verdant Baturité range. The observation point at the top can be accessed by a well-kept footpath or asphalt road. The climb is quite steep, so proper shoes are a must. This part of the country is famous for its temperate climate and lush green scenery. Strong wind gusts are possible at the top, though, so warm clothing for hikers is highly recommended.
