  • Start paying attention on a man who is sitting on the bench next to the bridge of the Cora Coralina's House. They say that is there every afternoon and calls by name all those who pass by there; folklore. And walk on foot through all the streets leaving the Cruise in front of the bridge. Very enjoyable.

  • Calm and peaceful city where security still lies and you can leave your door open quietly. The early morning rides sure to go to the market on the pastry Macale eat a cake and take a cajazinho juice and at dusk asking for a popsicle at the ice cream store the bandstand. The night enchants with its alleyways where whole story comes to mind.

Where to stay in Goias

While obviously lacking the colonial-era elegance of the town's main architectural highlights, accommodations in Goias are an attractive bunch. Colorful, squat hotels and guesthouses, family-run and neatly maintained, remain the most popular option. Dotted around town here and there, they offer a good level of service and a comfortable room for a decent price. Prices rise with proximity to the World Heritage-listed town center, where the location offers characterful views from your room. If on a budget, stay farther from the center: it's all pretty close together anyway, and the charming rusticity extends well past the historical core.
