Triple Frontier, Foz do Iguacu

3.6
#6 of 111 in Historic Sites in State of Parana
Historic Site Landmark
The green and yellow obelisk of Triple Frontier on the lookout platform signifies the place where you can see three markers designating the exact point where Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay meet. The trail to this equilateral triangle is about 2,000 m (6,650 ft) long, surrounded by pine and guava, as well as locals who may try to stop you to sell you something or beg for money. You'll find a cafeteria, craft shop, and a gazebo where you can observe the three countries, and the confluence where the Iguazú flows into the Paraná River. Our Foz do Iguacu vacation trip planner makes visiting Triple Frontier and other Foz do Iguacu attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Where to stay in Foz do Iguacu

Given the one dominant attraction in Foz do Iguacu, it's not surprising that the vast majority of accommodations sit on the south side of town, on the way to the waterfalls. To get as close as possible to the falls, stay in the southern neighborhoods of Jardim Eldorado or Jardim Iguacu. Many of the hotels in those neighborhoods line Avenue das Cataratas, the road that leads all the way to the falls. To get a better feel for the rest of the city, stay in the city center or its next-door neighborhood, Vila Paraguaia. From your hotel near the Parana River, you'll enjoy views over the neighboring city of Ciudad del Este in Paraguay.
