Parque das Aves, Foz do Iguacu
(4.7/5 based on 17,000+ reviews on the web)
The zookeepers at Parque das Aves allow you and your children to come into direct contact with the colorful tropical birds of their conservation project. Located on 16 hectares (40 acres) in the Atlantic rainforest, huge aviaries allow you to watch these majestic winged animals fly. Volunteers and staff had to rescue most of the residents due to animal trafficking or because they were unable to survive in the wild.

Feeding toucans, blue and yellow macaws, parrots, flamingos, lorikeets, and other tropical birds a healthy diet of fresh, organic foods helps them become well again. In addition to birds, butterflies and other animals roam the grounds. Through activities for younger and older children, kids will learn about the center's breeding program that releases the new generation into the wild. • One of the most beautiful and charming places in the region, where you can interact with the animals, particularly birds. The first time I went there was only this type species, but today are even alligators, turtles and snakes (without protection or cage!). I think that only should have birds, because in this way detracts the local name and turns into a mini zoo. There are enclosed spaces and others totally open in what a Toucan can land on your head, as if it were the film "Rio". The lizards also run behind the peacocks to eat their eggs. It is a ride for people of all ages and to hang out with time, because at the end past the gift shop, you can take a picture with a Macaw on his shoulder. The ticket costs only $18 per person. The local diner is great because it has a variety of delicious options and some natural, with great service and fair price. Is a hotspot!

  • Although I love wildlife I'm not normally that excited about birds but this park was highly recommended to us by a couple that we met earlier on our travels, and as the park was close to our hotel in ...  more »
  • This wonderful Parque-Reserva is wonderfully conceived as a tourist attraction; with whose entrance is funded the largest space recovery and release of birds in the Region. A great experience, direct contact with many specimens that consent subject and whose status permits it, environmentally friendly spaces for those who are "doomed" to captivity by not be able to be reinstated to the middle. Complementary high points: the café-bar halfway, very good quality and relative to the price in a dream place; with a couple of hammocks to relax and to a throne to photograph it and save a souvenir. the world of the ARaras (parrots), in which flush these birds of beautiful desplazamient, shape and plumage flights linger on leaving the retinas and soul of sensitive visitors. If they go to Foz, do not forget to visit the bird park. They will thank you.

  • Pretty large park with lots of different birds that have been rescued. They try to release them back into the wild when possible as well. The macaw cage was really cool. 30+ species of macaws flying around one large caged area that visitor can enter as well. They fly right past you so that you can feel the air from their wings. Definitely a unique experience. Takes 1-1.5 hours to get through and then you can just cross the street to access the falls.
  • Surpassed my expectations! I spent 90 minutes photographing some of the most beautiful birds and a few other animals. The entrance fee was only R$36 (about $10 USD), and it’s very close to the entrance to the Iguaçu Falls National Park and across the street from the Falls Helicopter tour, and the park itself and the animals all seemed well cared-for so you really ought to go!
  • Very good, high quality, not overdone park with good prices gift shop. Well worth 12 usd.
  • Excellent bird park showing some quite rare and unique species. Surprised to see a pair of Harpy Eagles in their collection and a range of Parrots, Toucans and perhaps the best collection of Macaws I have seen in captivity. Definitely worth a visit.
  • Amazing place, great infrastructure, food, snacks, people are super friendly. The birds and animals are amazing and seem happy.
