  • Itaipu is spectacular, and the ECO-MUSEUM is in this parameter. It was a trip I made to save time, time had to occupy idle space between an attraction and another and was extremely pleasant.

  • Amazing to know the history of the power plant by former employees who helped lift it. The models are impressive and enlightening. We went before the walk to the mill, and helped us a lot to understand everything. Valley super a visit!

  • Different rooms with interesting exhibits. Amazing history about the dam build.
  • This is basically a museum of the area, with exhibits on its recent history, its early human history, the history of the nearby hydroelectric project, the wildlife, etc. etc. Definitely worth checking out if you have the time.
  • This is an intresting place with a collection of different tools, elements and reconstitutions. I particularly liked the reconstitution of the turbine room of Itaipu dam.
  • Amazing. In addition to items from the time of the construction of the Itaipu plant, also has small maquettes and a huge representing Paraná basin, which is the plant. The kids loved this model, they can walk around on it. Also like to see the replica of a power plant's turbine shaft if the replica is amazing already imagine the originals! We little people near one of the giant trucks that were used at the time of construction. In addition to this historical collection the Ecomuseum also has traveling exhibitions. On occasion read poems of Paulo Leminski and a bit of your path was a pleasant surprise.

Where to stay in Foz do Iguacu

Given the one dominant attraction in Foz do Iguacu, it's not surprising that the vast majority of accommodations sit on the south side of town, on the way to the waterfalls. To get as close as possible to the falls, stay in the southern neighborhoods of Jardim Eldorado or Jardim Iguacu. Many of the hotels in those neighborhoods line Avenue das Cataratas, the road that leads all the way to the falls. To get a better feel for the rest of the city, stay in the city center or its next-door neighborhood, Vila Paraguaia. From your hotel near the Parana River, you'll enjoy views over the neighboring city of Ciudad del Este in Paraguay.
