Bosque Guarani zoo, Foz do Iguacu

2.3
#3 of 7 in Zoos & Aquariums in State of Parana
Bosque Guarani zoo, a free zoo, is home to a large collection of exotic birds and butterflies. Located just across from the city’s main bus terminal, the zoo is part of Parque das Aves (Bird Park) and is easily accessible by a short walk from the region’s famed waterfalls. Thriving under protection of expert scientists are several types of wild parrots, macaques, macaws, peacocks, turtles, and rheas. You can see these tropical species in their big cages, in a jungle setting typical to their natural environment. Bring your camera and stop by the large pond where the caiman idles away his days. The woods are dirty and unkempt, also found the sad and hungry animals. Has several animals, macaws, Jaguars, ema, various species of monkey. However, greater attention is needed to the animals and the place is very nice.

Animals with the dirty water and the Sun place dirty, the monkeys appeared to be ill, with some wounds. The Jaguar's cage was small. Although many trees, are thin and almost no shadow, too hot. Outside the scares with the lizards back and forth. Dirty place. I've been to several zoos and none was as dirty as well. Those poor animals.

A good zoo to visit with free access with various species of animals for contemplation and admiration. Situated in a dense green area of easy access with large cages for various animals. Some cages are empty and other poorly cared for and dirty, I think if I were charged tickets to access the value could be reversed in internal improvements. I enjoyed the visit and recommend.

Free zoo in the downtown, not very big but worth to see.

    It is an abandoned zoo.

I found a great place. Very green and right in the middle of the city. The animals seemed to be well treated. Just do not give a ten because of the lack of security. I saw no police, guard and even saw an employee of City Hall there. At the entrance there's a playground that had prostitutes and beggars which to my view the tour disrupted families. As there is no security, had a couple in there that I'm even blushing in imagine what they were doing. The presence of a single guard there already inhibits it. However the Indian tour. There is no fare to enter.

Tiny, but cute!!!! One opinion is that some bird nurseries could be larger so they could fly a little more!!

Where to stay in Foz do Iguacu

Given the one dominant attraction in Foz do Iguacu, it's not surprising that the vast majority of accommodations sit on the south side of town, on the way to the waterfalls. To get as close as possible to the falls, stay in the southern neighborhoods of Jardim Eldorado or Jardim Iguacu. Many of the hotels in those neighborhoods line Avenue das Cataratas, the road that leads all the way to the falls. To get a better feel for the rest of the city, stay in the city center or its next-door neighborhood, Vila Paraguaia. From your hotel near the Parana River, you'll enjoy views over the neighboring city of Ciudad del Este in Paraguay.
