Dam
At Barragem de Itaipu Binacional, watch a spectacle of lights, music, and cascading water happening on a "stage" considered one of the world's seven modern wonders of engineering. Sited on the border between Brazil and Paraguay, this architectural masterpiece opened in 1984 as a result of the joint enterprise undertaken by these two countries. At the observation point, watch the film explaining the history of the dam before being swept away by the show of nearly 1,000 giant spotlights. • Without doubt it was a great ride. Not to be missed. Panoramic bus tour with a lot of visibility. The eyes are few for such greatness. It is really a wonder. Select in advance your rides and enjoy all. Are many and should be marked on different days because of schedules. Staff were friendly and attentive. All tours are guided by professionals in the respective areas. Special hug to Mr. Faustino who received us with great sympathy in the iron man, a tribute to the worker of Itaipu. He represents all of this huge company. The public transport gets you in front of the plant.

  • My expectation was to see the floodgates open and not visualized that only concrete walls and a ride in a bus.

  • It's comforting channels or drains when this dam very on top of its water level, are huge doors that contain the mass of water on the other side of the dam only open to need large engineering work
