Metropolitana Cathedral, Fortaleza

Categories: Churches, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.1/5 based on 2,400+ reviews on the web
Built to hold 5,000 people, Metropolitana Cathedral is the third largest cathedral in the Brazil. The magnificient interior features panelled and circular stained glass windows that spread colored light across the pews. You can see similar flying buttresses and arches in European cathedrals. This is no conincidence: the cathedral's architect was French. Don't let the exterior with its years of soot stains fool you; behind this blackened facade you will find majesty. Our Fortaleza tourist route planner makes visiting Metropolitana Cathedral and other Fortaleza attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • The picture presented in this unflattering announcement the grandeur and beauty of this Cathedral. Next to the Central market is a must to visit. Inextricable beauty, just going in person to meet.

  • Located in the heart of the Fortress Cathedral has a wonderful architecture. Built by a French architect in the eclectic style and with Gothic elements. All white on the inside where the colorful stained-glass Windows, beautiful! A pity that in its surroundings lack clean (very dirty). City Hall should invest more in tourist locations.
