Caca e Pesca Beach, Fortaleza

1.7
#12 of 19 in Beaches in Fortaleza
Beach Nature / Park
You can swim in fresh water at Caca e Pesca Beach, where the river Cocò meets the ocean. Considered Fortaleza’s refuge, this beach offers tranquility and a bit of seclusion over large stretches of fine sand. Green seas with good waves make this a popular hang-out of surfers. You can take a long swim or just bask in the warm sun for a few hours. Thatched bungalows are located along the entire stretch of this coastline, providing a convenient place to rest in the shade and enjoy a meal of freshly-caught fish. At this "Hunting and Fishing" beach you can also see what the ocean has to offer by trying your own luck with the fishing rod. Where to stay in Fortaleza

If you want to focus on the historical attractions in Fortaleza, stay in the city center or a nearby neighborhood for easy access. Far more popular, however, is the coastal neighborhood of Praia de Iracema, where you can immerse yourself in the city's beach, restaurant, and nightlife scene. Any number of hotels line the neighborhood's expansive beachfront. For something a bit quieter, but still a stone's throw from the beach, look east to the coastal neighborhoods of De Lourdes and Praia do Futuro II. Thanks to the growing popularity of Fortaleza tourism, you can find a range of budget hostels throughout the city.

  • Nice place to see but the trash on the way there and around the beach is horrible. It is a sad shame to see no one cares about the beach but only the sun!  more »
  • I would not recommend going to this beach. It is very unsafe and you would probably be robbed. Stick with the Future beach.  more »
