Categories: Wildlife Areas, Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Enter an intact tropical paradise at Lagoinha do Leste, a wild beach accessed through trails, by sea, or by helicopter. Covering 453 hectares (1,119 acres) of land and declared a protected area in 1992, the beach features native vegetation and cliffs, plus sweeping views of the coast and the sea. Enjoy the biodiversity of the Atlantic forest and sand dunes, and explore the small lake and waterfall nearby. Walking to the beach takes two to two and a half hours. Just to get there by tracks or by sea by boat. There are two trails accessible to people without much experience and that don't have a physical preparation of triathlete: the one that starts on the beach Matadeiro (for me the most beautiful) and the South Marsh. The two are well known and easy to place. Another way is to get a boat in the Armação Beach, the price is affordable and in the summer the offer is great. Practically on the beach, buildings are nonexistent only a few kiosks selling some food and drinks (water, soft drinks, beers and, sometimes, caipirinhas). It is essential to take water, insect repellents and sunscreen, both going for track as by boat. If the person or group decide the trail, my tip is to start the trail from Praia do Matadeiro and finalize the South Marsh. There are buses that connect the two places, to the rescue of the car, if applicable. Find out the weather forecast for the day schedule, with rain the trails are slippery and dangerous. To get to the places of access (Mami, frame and Swamp South) take the city bus in downtown Florianópolis.show original
