Praia do Cacimba do Padre, Fernando de Noronha

4.9
#2 of 47 in Things to do in Fernando de Noronha
Behold the magnificent Dois Irmãos, two striking “brother” islands of rock protruding from the ocean. Should they look familiar to you it is because they grace the front of many a Fernando de Noronha postcard, but these images pale in comparison to seeing them for real. Enjoy a delicious portion of fish in banana leaves--cooked and sold on the beach--while you marvel at the sight. Praia do Cacimba do Padre is also a surfer’s paradise, with waves considered some of the best in the country, and home to an annual surfing competition. The beach is a known spawning ground of sea turtles, too, so you must follow strict guidelines to not to disturb any nests. You might even get the opportunity to watch eggs hatch. All places in Noronha are beautiful, the beaches of the Mar de Dentro, which sits between the coast of Pernambuco and the island of Noronha, are the spectacular beaches and, for the most part, good for surfing. Here I liked to surf and that more I visited was the Cacimba do Padre. Great lefts around the stone. Easy to find tubular waves. Dry tide isn't bizu, breaking hard, and you can lose your Board. Sunset there is as in practically any point in Noronha, a show. Visit Noronha is expensive? Yes, but it's worth it.

Beautiful beach and crystal clear waters. I recommend to always wear a snorkel and mask of water. Turtles, rays and fish diversity - can be beautiful

We went to the beach on a rainy day, but the look is rewarding, and you can wash the rain on cinnamon ... we went for the access to the beach of the goat is very nice too. From there you have an insider's view of the Morro Dois Irmãos.

Where to stay in Fernando de Noronha

The bad news is that, if you're on a budget, your trip to Fernando de Noronha might be starting to look a whole lot more expensive than you'd planned. Accommodations on the remote archipelago are understandably expensive, as all food and supplies have to be specially shipped in. All lodgings are on the largest island, Fernando de Noronha, which is the only one permanently inhabited in the archipelago. The majority of options consist of guesthouses and boutique hotels concentrated in the center of Vila dos Remédios, the island's town. However, look a bit farther outside of town and you can find some excellent eco-resorts and beachside accommodations.
