Explore the history of Fernando de Noronha, an archipelago of 21 islands, at Fernando de Noronha Memorial, featuring an exhibition of images created by local students, artists, scientists, and historians. These images depict the history of the archipelago, highlighting its geologic evolution since the time of the most recent volcanic activity, over 1 million years ago. The site also contains more than 600 photographs, taken over a period of 40 years by historian Marieta Borges. Her photographs, along with a number of maps and other documents, tell the story of these islands in the modern times, which included several foreign occupations and the presence of American troops during World War II. • Beautiful beach. High waves, heavy seas, but a beautiful place to take several pictures perfect. Not counting the birds giving your dives to catch the fish.

  • The island is incredible! Good dive, people generally is friendly, at the time I went (February) very good waves for surfing, the only problem is that everything is friendly.

  • If you come to Noronha be sure to get information about some of the history of that beautiful island. And Fernando de Noronha has a decent memory of appreciation! The Memorial Noronhense Espaço Cultural Américo Vespucio. There you will find, in the form of a Panel the anthem of Fernando de Noronha, named Miss Noronha, which was composed of the Cel. Gercy Teles de Menezes. There's also the flag that has two emblematic symbols of the island: Morro do Pico and the dolphin. There are a lot of interesting information. Since who was the discoverer, Americo Véspúcio, a Florentine-born Spanish navigator, which approached the island on 10 August 1503. Called the wonderful island "and is your the expression:" Heaven is here ". But there's plenty more memories and history. Set aside an afternoon or morning to check out and take a trip back in time!
