Capela de Sao Pedro, Fernando de Noronha

(4.6/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
See the vast expanse of water below Capela de Sao Pedro, a cliff top chapel at the foot of a mountain. Tiny, simple, and isolated on the top of a hill overlooking the ocean, this no-frills church has a large cross erected next to it and offers superb views of the sea. Built in the 1930s by the French, the structure includes carved wooden entrance doors and a bell in the front facade. Due to the scenery, many opt to have their wedding here. On Saint Peter's Day (July 29), a procession from the nearby town comes to the top of the hill for an outdoor mass celebrating the protector of fishermen. • The Chapel is very small and has a look amazing on the island, but spends most of his time shut. Whoever gets in, it's simple, but it is charming.

  • Guys this Chapel is cute, tiny, I think it is up some 15 people! That's right!!! Is next to the port, the shark Museum, Raquel hole. So is a place worth going up and enjoy the view from the top, in addition to render beautiful pictures. Many don't go up to visit, are just with the Museum, etc. But I super nominate the ascent is lightweight and better yet can get buggy!

  • I'm suspect to talk, because I got married in this Chapel. Is a magical place, you have an incredible view of the island.
