Baia dos Golfinhos, Fernando de Noronha

4.6
#9 of 19 in Beaches in Fernando de Noronha
Baia dos Golfinhos is sublimely beautiful with its striking landscape, lush vegetation, and bright blue water, but that is not its main appeal. For centuries, schools of spinner dolphins have been coming to the stunning bay and, from atop the 50 m (164 ft) cliff, you are almost guaranteed a sighting of some resting in the cove after a night of hunting. Research biologists from the “Projeto Golfinho Rotador” organization monitor the animals daily and readily answer questions. They will even lend you binoculars for a better look. From the parking lot is still over 1km to the observation deck. Best to come early in the morning before 8 o'clock! On the one hand, the sun burns are not yet so strong, and also to have the best chance to see dolphins. Many children and adults on the ground were disappointed, because the dolphins of only a significant distance were seen. The zoom levels of mobile phones or GoPro here not enough cameras. Best you take a good binoculars or has his best telephoto lens. The Dolphin image was shot down with a 600 mm lens. If you want to see dolphins, it's better to book a boat trip. In the majority of cases it is accompanied on a stretch of dolphins there.

You can see through the boat trip and also the road that gives access to praia do sancho.. When we had a staff of ICMBIO and they lent us binoculars to see the dolphins, but the ideal is to go early, like 7:00 in the morning to see them.

Where to stay in Fernando de Noronha

The bad news is that, if you're on a budget, your trip to Fernando de Noronha might be starting to look a whole lot more expensive than you'd planned. Accommodations on the remote archipelago are understandably expensive, as all food and supplies have to be specially shipped in. All lodgings are on the largest island, Fernando de Noronha, which is the only one permanently inhabited in the archipelago. The majority of options consist of guesthouses and boutique hotels concentrated in the center of Vila dos Remédios, the island's town. However, look a bit farther outside of town and you can find some excellent eco-resorts and beachside accommodations.
