Where to stay in Curitiba

Wherever you choose to stay in the city, you'll be able to get from place to place on your Curitiba itinerary in a breeze, thanks to the rapid bus transit system. Most higher-end hotels sit in or very close to the city center, especially along the pedestrianized main street of Rua XV de Novembro. Stay here if you want quick access to the best shopping strip in town. You can look slightly out of the center, in the neighborhoods of Batel and Seminário, to mingle with the city's posh crowd. Curitiba's continuing growth in popularity with younger tourists means you can now find any number of budget youth hostels, mainly concentrated in the center and inner suburbs.

  • It is close to other public buildings, the place is nice, but doesn't have a lot to do, a tour through the gardens is enough, because internal visit is more complicated.

  • The Palácio Iguaçu is the current seat of the Government of Paraná and is located in the civic centre of Curitiba, the building was designed by architect David Xavier Azambuja and is considered one of the most representative examples of modernist architecture in Curitiba, because your appearance is of an "immense rectangular box, Crystal suspended in body on advancing columns of white marble indented" has 14000 m ² of constructed area, distributed on four floors, a basement and two floors and the glass area that is located opposite the Praça Nossa Senhora da Salete, has a surface of about 1.650 m ² and your execution in the 1950 represented a great achievement. The Palace was conceived to commemorate the centenary of the political emancipation of Paraná during the rule of Bento Munhoz da Rocha, who ruled the State in the 1950 and at the time was considered a very innovative project, being heavily criticized, because the Government of Bento Munhoz da Rocha was marked from the start by a series your urban works that transformed the city of Curitiba and as soon as it took office the Governor has devised and initiated the design of the Civic Centre project which had the aim of hosting and centralize all public buildings, one of the main pillars of this project was the construction of the Palace, whose inauguration took place on 19 December 1954, and has since become a tourist point and one of the most beautiful postcards of Curitiba , being listed by the State Heritage, along with the other official buildings that are located in the Civic Center
