Marumbi State park, Curitiba

(4.8/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web)
Take a train ride though the rainforest to Marumbi State park, home to several specimens of centuries-old native trees, like ipês, araucárias, and jacarandás. This park is often described as a "hiker's delight." An experienced guide can lead you through this lush area to cascading waterfalls and rivers teeming with a diverse plant and animal life, all the way up to Pico Marumbi, a towering peak over 1,500 meters (5,000 ft) high and offering a panoramic view of the entire region. These trails are steep and can take several hours to traverse, so comfortable shoes are a must. Bring lots of water and a light snack, and spend a day in a verdant region rich with flora and fauna found only in this part of the world. • Did this beautiful ride at the Carnival. 'M carioca, but my husband and I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of Carnival and have no regrets, we meet Curitiba and then on the second day we planned the train ride. I just don't recommend what we did: ida and back by train. Choose one or the other. The train left with more than 1 hour of Curitiba and didn't pay off this time. Conclusion: we arrived in Morretes almost 13:00 hs and the 15:00 and already gone back. We got off the train in a hurry to get in restaurants and didn't help much, because even empty the restaurants did not allow entry because they gave priority to those who had made the reservation before the Serra verde sells the package with lunch included, so while everyone who bought the lunch package, do not allow the entry of other customers. We had to find enough for we can have lunch running and even enjoyed the city as we'd like. But the ride is beautiful, thanks. The best landscapes are on the left side and in the back of the right side, but as we can't choose the seats, we stayed at the opposite side. But relax, it's beautiful anyway. So my recommendation is: buy the package: train trip with lunch and back to van.

  • It's one of our attractions of the Serra do Mar near the capital. Climbing place. I'm not a climber, I'm afraid of heights, but I met the Park, down from Litorina to the coast, one of the stops is in Marumbi Station. Foot of the peak, where the trail begins to climb. Within the Park.
