Curitiba's Holocaust Museum, Curitiba

4.5
Home to an old Jewish community, the city opened Curitiba's Holocaust Museum in 2011, the first and only institution of its kind in Brazil. You can take a free guided tour here, or choose to visit the exhibit at your own pace. Many displays are interactive, with original materials, such as numerous audio and visual recordings of survivor testimonies. The museum aims to preserve the memory of the Holocaust in the words of its victims, and to honor those who helped them and fought against hatred, racism, and prejudice. The museum is located inside the newly-built synagogue, which serves as a cultural and religious center of Jewish life here. • I left to meet this beautiful city of Rondônia. But one of my goals was to visit the Holocaust Museum. On the first attempt, I got there and my visit had not been confirmed. But I got it on the second attempt. An experience for all my life. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I just cannot take pictures inside.

  • Unfortunately they don't let take pictures inside the Museum, but the site itself if you see how he is set to the smallest detail to portray the Holocaust since the preparation by the Nazis. It's exciting and all done with whim. Is free but you must register on the website and schedule, then to the email informed by you the Museum sends confirmation of the visit. Scheduled and at the same time I got the e-mail confirming. At the time of the visit had an employee with a list of names of those who had scheduled. Important to note that the Museum is part of a synagogue, to what seemed, therefore does not have a sign with your name on the outside, not the tourism bus line goes up there.

  • Museum with items from Holocaust survivors. Place to visit to understand what hatred anger and intolerance was able to do with humanity. Rescues a lot of emotion and it is impossible to remain indifferent to what you see and hear through the accounts of survivors. That can never occur again this brutality with the human being.

  • My visit to the Holocaust Museum was a transformative experience, I've always been in love with stories and even more for the history of the great wars, the visit to the Museum was very striking, the term "Holocaust stories are stories of lives" is what it could mean the visit. To make the visit a registration is necessary and carry out the schedule with at least 48 hours in advance, but recommend that the visit be scheduled with approximately of 1 month in advance because the Museum has a very large demand and for being free and possess a limited access is well-attended.

  • Despite being a place you go out extremely distressed and in pain in the heart by being presented the sensations and sad stories of this moment in history and beyond, other stories in which humanity was shown to be cruel, also are presented to people who have shown how There may still be goodness in the world and who resisted to stay at well. Valley super a visit.
