Chapada dos Guimaraes National Park, Chapada dos Guimaraes

(4.5/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
Chapada is a Brazilian word that means a region of steep cliffs, usually at the edge of a plateau, and it is for these geological formations that Chapada dos Guimaraes National Park is named. With so many of these red, rock formations, panoramic vistas and cascading waterfalls abound. As you explore the park, you will find the dense rain forest gives way suddenly to Cerrado--vast tropical savanna--, and vice versa, like stepping into another world. Explore the park's cave systems, stand at the geographical center of South America, visit the brilliant blue lake which gets its color from microscopic bacteria, or simply enjoy the various flora and fauna, including tropical birds such as macaws and king vultures. • The Park is beautiful and worth visiting. One of the pearls hidden in the interior of Brazil. Worth the visit.

  • Unique place, familiar, warm and with the attention and care of the owners (Mu and Genevieve), always smiling and gifts! Our family recommends!

  • The Park is really beautiful, it's worth a visit as there are many rides to do, with options for those who like long walks and also for those who want to take more walks. The organization needs to improve a little bit, but they seem to be on the right track and that the organizers of the Park are in constant improvements. Still, I suggest that there is a tourist service center for the display of tabs, because the greatest difficulty I had was finding guides to do the tours. It was a lot of indication type Word-of-mouth, without guarantees that would provide a good service. We were lucky to have shown us talent, but the lists and guides offer should be made available in a CAT, including that tourists could do the evaluation of the guides.
