(3/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web)
Located at one end of Julio de Castilhos Avenue, Monumento Nacional ao Imigrante, is a tribute to the immigrants who have played a crucial role in the settlement and formation of the nation of Brazil. Although originally built to honor specifically the Italian immigrants that settled in the Rio Grande do Sul region, the monument was appropriated in 1953 to commemorate immigrants of all ethnicities, throughout the entirety of Brazil. Underneath the obelisk, and bronze figures of a man and women, holding their child, you will find a marble crypt that is used as a cultural exhibition space. • It lies on the banks of the BR 116 in caxias do Sul and don't see as great attraction! A sculpture of historic value too large, but that only impresses those who admire art and people who can imagine how much work was to do such work. perfect sculpture and this perspective is worth visiting.

  • The monument is more than beautiful, it's interesting and historical. The environment around tuck despite being a busy urban area. Is a beautiful tribute to all immigrants, not just the Italians! Worth a few pictures.

  • It's no big deal the memorial, but it is important to know mainly because it is a city without many attractions
