Igreja de São Pelegrino, Caxias Do Sul

(4.8/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
Aldo Locatelli is responsible for the vivid frescoes that cover Igreja de São Pelegrino's walls and ceilings. Locatelli's paintings are what give the church its reputation as the most beautiful in the city. Along with the murals, you’ll also see a pair of bronze doors designed by Augusto Murer that are spectacular in their own right. They depict the story of the Italian immigration to Brazil sculpted in metal. Another homage to Italy is the replica Pieta on display.  Arrange to visit Igreja de São Pelegrino and other attractions in Caxias Do Sul using our Caxias Do Sul vacation route planner.

  • We arrived early and the Church wasn't open. Just open the 3:00 pm. We passed again the 2:30 pm and already was open so we decided to go in. We were delighted! The Church is full of painted panels. On the walls and on the ceiling. One of the most beautiful Churches I've ever seen.

  • The Church is beautiful, the paintings are the neck to look only to the ceiling. And the replica of the Pietà is worth it!
