Castelo Lacave, Caxias Do Sul

Hidden within lush green surroundings, you will find Castelo Lacave, a castle functioning as a winery. It was built in 1978 by a Spaniard who wanted to construct a 6th Century Castle in the city limits of Caxias do Sul. The Castle is constructed of basalt stone, native to the region, without using any type of cement in the construction. The original owner died in 1987, and the Castle has changed owners through the years.

Enjoy a guided tour explaining the stages of wine production while perusing the various armors, crests, and thrones in display. The tour will end with a tasting of the wines. Then you can delight in a delicious lunch at the Italian restaurant with great views. To visit Castelo Lacave and other attractions in Caxias Do Sul, use our Caxias Do Sul journey website .

  • I've never made a meal in a castle. And the Lacave meets your paper. Go to Caxias do Sul and not lunch at this restaurant is not going in Caxias.

  • We took the guided tour, was fantastic, our guide (can't remember her name) was super friendly and took us to a real back to the past. The castle is beautiful for Brazilian standards. The tasting was very nice, they even have sweet wines. The tour is paid but the price is right. And at the end of the tour we were able to enjoy a delicious lunch at the restaurant of the Castle. Not to be missed.

  • Great food, fair price, very cozy place. Medieval place. We were in 10 people (family), note 10. The waiter William is super nice.

  • Good but little bit abandoned
  • Great
  • Don't expect to find a winery in operation while visiting the Château Lacave. There is only the Castle, practically empty and mega intervencionado by successive owners to your Creator and that serves, in fact, as a kind of private event Center. There is also a small retail store that offers wines and cosmetics brand Lacave and the restaurant, you haven't tried. But the space is very cool.

  • The tasting left something to be desired, but the historical fact of the Castle it is interesting to know, how and why it was built, the view is beautiful, but inside there's a lot of things to enjoy.
