Vale das Araras, Cavalcante

(4/5 based on 65+ reviews on the web)
Vale das Araras is a private reserve nestled within a valley with its macaws. An easy forest trail leads to the waterfall that is the main attraction. Though it is medium height, its pools are shallow and you can bathe without fear. Sit on a rock by the waterfall to sunbathe, enjoy the sound of the fall or the hum of the river, and enjoy the birds’ songs. The complex has eight boutique cottages, a rustic restaurant, a small pool, and sauna. The cottages are clean and well-equipped, but purely for those looking for contact with nature and nothing else, since there are no TVs or wifi. Since the area is private, there is an entry fee. Vale das Araras is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Cavalcante Edition.

  • We do not host, we just to meet a waterfall and a pond. Disappointed ... for being a hotel there was the option of "Day use" or restaurant for lunch. Thus, we proposed-a little expensive places for those who became 15mnts and turned and walked away. Need to rethink to offer something more to a possible guest.

  • Quite liked this waterfall, pq there are portions that are very shallow, and if you can just be relaxing there. The trail is easy and well-accessible.

  • The hostel does not accept young children, because they already had problems, but to go in the waterfall you can take children, since they can do the 2000-meter trail to the waterfall and the well Buriti. In the hostel we saw toucans, macaws and other birds. All very peaceful, well organized. If you are staying at the hotel, access to the falls is free, for those who are not staying they charge a fee of 20 dollars.
