Vale das Araras, Cavalcante
(3.9/5 based on 60+ reviews on the web)
Vale das Araras is a private reserve nestled within a valley with its macaws. An easy forest trail leads to the waterfall that is the main attraction. Though it is medium height, its pools are shallow and you can bathe without fear. Sit on a rock by the waterfall to sunbathe, enjoy the sound of the fall or the hum of the river, and enjoy the birds’ songs. The complex has eight boutique cottages, a rustic restaurant, a small pool, and sauna. The cottages are clean and well-equipped, but purely for those looking for contact with nature and nothing else, since there are no TVs or wifi. Since the area is private, there is an entry fee. Vale das Araras is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Cavalcante Edition.

  • The Valley of the macaws is just over 2 km from the Centre of Chandler, on the dirt road that connects the city to the South Hills. On site works a great hostel, but who is not staying can visit its attractions by R$ 10.00 value. The two main attractions are the São Bartolomeu and well do Buriti, 300 meters distant from one another. The entrance of the Valley, the trail to the falls is 1.7 km, but much of the route is flat and in the shade, being possible to be traversed even by children. Both sites are suitable for shower. The pit of buriti has calm waters and forms a small beach with white sand. Cachoeira São Bartolomeu, in turn, is a small drop, and taking proper care it is possible to get near its base.

  • Recommended trail to make. The road passes on the one hand very nice, arriving at a beautiful waterfall jungle. We swim on the waterfall. Walking a few meters, find an edge of Sandy Lake. Ideal for swim a while. We loved it!
