  • What a wonderful experience! If you are staying in Alto Paraíso is good to get out early to make the most of it. The first stop is the CAT (Tourist Center) of the city of Calvacante for more correct information about the location of the Waterfall and hire a guide, by the way, who received us there in the CAT in the answer very well. The guide is with you throughout the day, leading you on the road, explaining about the Kalunga community, taking your questions. Still in Chan's good fuel (fuel there is more expensive) bring water, a snack because there's still a lot of dirt road ahead, some hard climbs (recommend drive high, cuz some excerpts punish low car), a gazebo with a beautiful view in the late afternoon, a few bridges, holes made by rainwater, even adventure. On arrival in the community, the guide takes you Kalunga until a CAT where you provide some personal data (control of the number of visitors, as in the waterfall of Santa Barbara has a limit of visitation, is there in the community that you will be directed to go first to the fall of Santa Barbara or to the waterfall of the capybara, both are beautiful and worth checked them. The community has restaurants, restrooms, and tbm guides because, if you do in making the whole route described earlier without a guide, you can find one there, since to go the waterfalls it is mandatory to go accompanied by a guide. The community has a personal q tbm works with the transport truck because ahead have excerpts q only trucks can pass. In our case, we were directed first to the fall of the capybara, the trail is more difficult, but worth knowing, on the back of this waterfall we stopped at the restaurant for lunch, rest and go to Santa Barbara waterfall. We got a truck and go to the crossing of a river (was come shallow), after the river has a walk and reach the waterfalls of Barbarazinha and Santa Barbara, simply beautiful. Blue waters, cool but too good, a full day of adventure that is worth every effort. Get your most beautiful images, and enjoy this wonderful place. Note: bring cash to pay the tab (on average 100 to 120 reais), the entry into the Community (20 reais per person) the words of the truck (5 reais to ida and around 5 per person), lunch (on average 30 reais per person). Recommend the use of a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, tennis (since there didn't feel any mosquito, but the other day I had a few bites on his body). According to reports of the Guide, Saturdays and holidays the movement in waterfalls increases, we got lucky, had few people and was very well spent. At the most, come out renewed.

  • Santa Barbara waterfall is really beautiful, but the Kalunga's land charge dearly for access. Avoid visiting during holiday and always prefer to arrive early.

  • 7 people, just acquaintances. There was long seen since 2009 that wasn't going there without having to share with over 33
