Caraiva River, Caraiva

4.8
Caraiva River is a place of wonder, where the river meets with the sea. This is a wonderful opportunity to go from the river into the sea and vice versa. Be sure to rent a board and do stand up paddle or try wind surfing. You can also float down the river by boat and at the end bend, there is a tent selling coconut water. Our Porto Seguro trip planner makes visiting Caraiva River and other Porto Seguro attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • We always listen to Caraíva's beautiful, rustic, down-to-Earth, and such, etc. In fact, however, the river/beach, right after you boat crosses, is frequented mainly by people alternatives ". We know that nowadays the drugs are everywhere, but what we saw in Caraíva, on the beach, was out of the ordinary. The pot it was legalized there. We saw several people smoking openly, unceremoniously, in the middle of everyone on the river/beach. Most of the crowd was young, but had children, families ... it bothered us a lot. Until a global actor was preparing your based quietly, in the tent beside (Caraíva okay famosinha between artists/global). The tent where we were was also very weak, lacked several things on the menu and the waiter couldn't remember of our requests. Ended up spending the day pastel based and juices, which were some of the few things available. And the beach itself was not all that the sea was dark (because of the river), with some waves. I prefer 10 times Arraial and Trancoso. They say that the dude even spend the night there, but as we spent the day, I can't say how well ... face 30 km of dirt road to try it was frustrating for us. But if that's your vibe, feel free.

  • The river is responsible for the dark waters of the sea of Caraiva and at the same time is the caretaker of the tranquility of the place. To make the crossing in a canoe by its waters, you already understand that the pace is another-before you even pick up your "donkey". Enjoy the River to admire the sunset-pink Stingray + pie eating the ball ride for contemplation + upriver of SUP. When the sea is blue because of the River, don't be sad: this is why Caraiva is what it is.

  • A simple and charming place! Near the sea the tents don't have much structure, recommend eating in a restaurant. "The Gift", the Sun, the owner is very nice people! I went to spend the day and enjoyed, I imagine to be the night's worth.

Where to stay in Porto Seguro

Luxury hotels and beach resorts are the name of the game when it comes to accommodations in Porto Seguro, with many tourists looking to relax and enjoy the coastal atmosphere. Most of these lie a couple of miles north of the city center, pressed up against long stretches of beach. To enjoy the party scene and get close to the best things to see in Porto Seguro, stay in the narrow streets of the old town. However, if the nightlife seems a bit too intense for your taste, consider the plentiful options in Arraial d'Ajuda--a smaller, quieter town just a couple of miles to the south.
