Tabatinga Beach, Caraguatatuba

3.8
#8 of 19 in Parks in Caraguatatuba
Somewhat underdeveloped, Tabatinga Beach offers “secret” spots such as a place for mud baths on a path leading off the beach. The sea is calm and clean, but sometimes there is boat traffic. The beach itself is quiet and clean, but does not provide much in terms of infrastructure, so bring your own water and refreshments. • Very quiet, very good beach for children. There is a separation of buoys where boats cannot enter. Sure, you can stay at the kiosks and observe the children in the water.

  • When you arrive at the beach, a lookout say they already know that you are there but you can "stand at ease". The sea is calm and the water is no more boat people. You feel watched all the time, it's as if the beach is not public.

  • The beach is very quiet, safe and well cared for, is always clean. The sea is quite calm but I was expecting a more transparent water. Great place to relax. Few quisques options of food (only some in the left corner of the beach), but no problem for this in one of the hotels on the beach.

Where to stay in Caraguatatuba

As you'd expect, the beach is the place to stay in Caraguatatuba. A multitude of hotels and beach resorts line the curved coastline, most of them with swimming pools and a range of other creature comforts. Look along Avenue Dr Artur Costa Filho for easiest access to the city's largest and most iconic beach. For budget accommodations, look inland to the neighborhood of Prainha. On its narrow streets you'll find an abundance of small guesthouses offering competitive prices, and they're still only a few minutes' walk from a palm-lined beach.
