With calm waters is ideal for those with small children. Has a wide strip of sand. The kiosks provide chairs and beach umbrella, independent of consumption. The always friendly and welcoming. Recommend.

We stayed in an Inn with access to walk for two or three restaurants known (for good) in Cockaigne. The prices are reasonable, remembering that we are talking about restaurants on the beach.

Access can be confusing for the first time. But it's easy. Just follow the BR 101 sense Ubatuba, and after the beach of Massaguaçu, turn right at the roundabout. The plates in the confused a little, but if you miss, you have the entry after Cockaigne River Bridge, just be espertx. The beach is quiet, good kiosks and two arms of the mouth of the River to bathe at both ends of the beach. Also has a place to park the car. In high season the beach is quite popular. If it is in the summer or holiday weekend to take the beach, get there early.

A multitude of hotels and beach resorts line the curved coastline, most of them with swimming pools and a range of other creature comforts. Look along Avenue Dr Artur Costa Filho for easiest access to the city's largest and most iconic beach. For budget accommodations, look inland to the neighborhood of Prainha. On its narrow streets you'll find an abundance of small guesthouses offering competitive prices, and they're still only a few minutes' walk from a palm-lined beach.
