Palmeiras Beach, Caraguatatuba

1.6
#13 of 18 in Beaches in Caraguatatuba
One of Caraguatatuba’s 17 beaches, Palmeiras Beach is a long stretch of sand suitable for leisurely morning walks. The water here can be quite rough, so surfing is not recommended to inexperienced visitors. There are several shallow pools of warm water right along the sand that may be suitable for families with small children. Plenty of parking is available in a number of spots along the waterfront, but this secluded part of the coast does not include lots of tourist facilities. Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen when you come, as well as enough water and snacks to last you the entire day. Where to stay in Caraguatatuba

As you'd expect, the beach is the place to stay in Caraguatatuba. A multitude of hotels and beach resorts line the curved coastline, most of them with swimming pools and a range of other creature comforts. Look along Avenue Dr Artur Costa Filho for easiest access to the city's largest and most iconic beach. For budget accommodations, look inland to the neighborhood of Prainha. On its narrow streets you'll find an abundance of small guesthouses offering competitive prices, and they're still only a few minutes' walk from a palm-lined beach.
