Aldeia de pescadores, Canoa Quebrada

With its distinctive orange cliffs and fine, white beach, the small, rustic fishing village of Aldeia de pescadores ('Broken Canoe'), known as the pearl of the east coast of Ceará, is fast becoming an international tourist destination. Already there are a whole host of tourist activities to try, including dune buggies, horse riding, sailing in a 'jangada' boat, mountain biking, sandboarding, kitesurfing, and windsurfing. Alternatively you can simply relax on the idyllic beach, or dine at one of the many restaurants on the village's main street: 'Broadway.' • This village is near the center of Canoa Quebrada, down the beach, near the Church. It's walking distance. We passed the village when we did the buggy ride. Is a set of simple houses of taipa, full of interesting cards. The feeling is that the village stopped in time. The streets are of sand from the beach. The buggeiro informed us that the village was the location for some scenes of the movie ' Bella Donna ' in 1997 and they had to embed the electrical wiring to preserve the rustic air of Anna's environment. A very interesting place, well worth knowing!

Where to stay in Canoa Quebrada

A small settlement quickly developing into a major tourist destination, Canoa Quebrada features numerous inns offering affordable rooms to tourists visiting on a budget. The least expensive of these small, often family-run establishments provide very few amenities and do not offer advance reservation options. If you don't wish to shop around upon your arrival, choose one of the area's mid-range guesthouses, which frequently offer access to private parking areas, rooftop terraces, and swimming pools.
