Pinheiro Grosso park, Canela

On the road between Gramado and Canela, spare half an hour to visit Pinheiro Grosso park, home to an astounding Araucaria tree that is 700 years old. Walk the trail to see more native pine trees, characteristic for this part of the country and unlike the vegetation most casual tourists expect to see in Brazil’s rainforests. Ecotourism is very popular in this region and there are many opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding, and river rafting. You can spend a rainy day taking a relaxing walk on this park’s well-kept scenic trail. Umbrellas are handed out at the entrance. • the site has the largest pine in the world, his World Cup is broken, but is interesting for those who like that kind of visit. Entry shall be charged at this location.

  • The Park was closed in the middle of the holiday season and holidays, which is a shame, although the interesting thing that is pine is only attractive.

  • The structure of the place is pretty simple, I know the name of the place is thick pine park, but there's nothing more to see. The space should be better harnessed (at the end of December the Park would enter into retirement).

  • The park is small but the main attraction really pays off. If you are willing to see a great 700 old tree, you should pay a visit

  • My friend Fabio! The place is fantastic and worth knowing! I went there this year and from what I have observed is not 12 people to embrace it, some 4 or 5 people already gives

  • As well said Fabio, a survivor of 700 years, which deserves all our respect and commitment to assist in your storage. It's not just a big pine, is a giant, with all your grandeur and Majesty, and the last of your line. Yes pay admission to revere him and help him reach 1,000 years.
