Specialty Museum
Preserving nearly 300 woodcuts by 200 artists from Brazil and abroad, Casa da Xilogravura is the only museum of its kind in the country. Located in the historic center of town, in a building that once housed the Monastery of Saint John, the museum also maintains a library, and an archive of Brazilian graphic arts. Watch videos and browse through the displayed collection to learn all about the universe of printed graphics. Letterpress and linotype machines are featured in the permanent exhibit, as well as several reproductions of works by Albrecht Dürer, whose woodcuts revolutionized the art in the 16th century. • Very well organized Museum. Staff were very friendly and well trained. A beautiful collection that covers not only works of art but also the evolution and equipment of printing methods. Antonio Costella congratulations for the dedication and care. The work of a lifetime!

  • Rico in Museum information! Spacious, organized and attentive staff. Student pays half with card. Just swap the TV with bad image quality and outdated.

  • Looks small on the outside, but it is a huge place and full of history, told in a way that leaves the audience in the mood to hear increasingly ♡
