It is located 11 Km from the Centre of Buique and about 280 Km from Recife. Access to the Park is done by trails and there are several of them. In the village of Catimbau exists the Association of guides and it is recommended that you use the service to be able to venture the footpaths and access the various passages. How I spent the weekend I chose to do on Saturday the trail of headless men along with the plateau. On Sunday we made the little tracks, Cave of the deer and the flour mill. On these trails in addition to gorgeous landscapes you can find inscriptions. Some trails requires a bit of physical conditioning and it's always nice to get a good amount of water. In ´ Saturday traveled about of 3 Km and on Sunday something close to 7 Km.

I made two trips to camping with a group called comes from Walk (I recommend as well) and our focus was adventure, challenge, enjoy nature and camping. On this last trip we saw a full moon rises indescribable and we went to the lookout tower trail that is simply unforgettable! The tours also can be very romantic and family. Recommended to consult the difficulty of the trails.

The Inn closest to the entrance of the Park is that of Dona Zefinha which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner included in the daily value. In the Valley there is an Association of guides where you can schedule the tours. Is only allowed to do the trails accompanied by guides. They charge the rate and some rates depending on the chosen track. The look of the Park is wonderful. There is a plateau, caatinga vegetation with various species of Cactus, in addition to the primitive paintings. The rainy season lasts from May to August and is when the landscape is green and cacti in flower. Two days of hiking trails are enough to know everything. Some people camp on the plateau. The highlight is with the unique rock formations and cave paintings. A wonderful ride!
