Lake Paranoá is an artificial lake located in Brasília, the capital of Brazil. During construction of the city, the Paranoá River was dammed to form the lake, which has a circumference of 80km. On its shores are embassies and consulates, sports clubs, restaurants, the residential areas of Lago Sul and Lago Norte, the University of Brasília, the Olympic Center, and the Palácio da Alvorada, the official residence of the President of Brazil.EtymologyThe lake is named for the Paranoá River; its name is derived from Tupi paranã, "sea" and kûá, "bay, cove", giving "sea cove".

Almost do not notice that it is a Lake, a river, a sea. Without the Lake Paranoá Brasilia would be sadder and more drought. He has something related to accessibility too, since its many doors are always open, without forgetting that the water has this power to a load off our backs, to relieve the tiredness of the working days in the capital.

The Paranoá Lake is a part of our federal capital. We have two Decks, one is in the South Lake and another at the North Lake. The pontao in Lago Sul is another attraction of the Paranoá Lake, which has several restaurants, bars and local events and Lakeside walk. No longer do the boat tour with the team of Brasília that make weekends a scenic South side of paranoazão through the JK bridge, at Pier 21 that is a strip mall in front of the Lake, where you will find cinemas, bars, shops and eateries. Okay ... that's just a tasting. What are you doing that wasn't even there. Thanks guys ... Do not forget to visit these attractions. Regards to all. Att. Reginaldo Rivers

Where to stay in Brasilia

Choosing where to stay during your trip to Brasilia can be somewhat difficult. Due to the city's distinctive layout and lack of a historical "center," accommodations have developed in clusters. By far the best range of options surrounds the distinctive green space of Jardim Burle Marx, in the city's two planned hotel districts. You can also find a good selection of lodgings around Vila Planalto, the city's designated political district, which sits not far from Brasilia's main lake. Wherever you decide to stay, make sure it's within reasonable distance of a metro station or bus stop--you'll want good access to public transport in order to easily navigate the city.
