Jaburu Palace, Brasilia

(3.3/5 based on 40+ reviews on the web)
The Palácio do Jaburu is the official residence of the Vice-President of Brazil. The palace was designed, along with the rest of the city of Brasília, by Oscar Niemeyer and inaugurated in 1977. It is located near the Palácio da Alvorada in Brasília. The name comes from a common bird of the region, the Jabiru. The Jaburu was projected in 1973 and inaugurated in 1977 - seventeen years after the inauguration of Brasília. Adalberto Pereira dos Santos, Vice-President of Ernesto Geisel was the first resident, followed by Aureliano Chaves and Itamar Franco . Marco Maciel occupied the Palace from 1995 to 2002.The PalaceTo the side of the lagoon that gave the name to it and to the edges of the Paranoá Lake, the Palace of the Jaburu was projected by the architect Oscar Niemeyer to be the official residence of the Vice-president of the Republic, with the urbanistic concept proposed by Lúcio Costa for Brasília. The main characteristic of the Palace and its differential from others, such as the Palácio da Alvorada, is the fact of it being a construction exclusively destined to housing. Its 4,283 square meters privilege the external area, with generous varandas and common areas.Located along the Presidential Way, between the Palaces of Planalto and Alvorada, the Palácio do Jaburu is in the topographical level of the Paranoá Lake, occupying an area of 190,000 square meters. In its gardens, projected by the land-scape designer Roberto Burle Marx, species of typical trees join the ornamental plants brought from other regions of the Country.

  • 10 minutes, counting on the Nice watch. Is this the time lost looking a long way is good to say-the Palácio do Jaburu, current residence of the President. This view, just looks like a farm like the interior of Sao Paulo. It's a shame, our heritage and cannot be visited by us. That same Watch said once in a few days the visits were allowed. Today, as far as the "common public" can get, little thing you see. It's really disappointing.

  • These days, we can see that your resident, the Vice-President of the Republic, is not always faithful friend of the neighbor of the Dawn Palace the Palácio do Jaburu was only opened in 1977, unlike Dawn who was born with Brasilia, in 1960. Both are projects of Oscar Niemeyer, the Dawn is the TOP projects of Brasilia and Niemeyer, whereas the Jabiru sounds pretty simple on the OUTSIDE, a boxy lakeside. However on the INSIDE shows the strokes of genius of Oscar. For duty of craft, when I worked as Chief of staff to Congressman Antonio de Jesus, PMDB, esiive twice in the Dawn, an audience with Mrs. Marly Sarney, dealing with issues related to the old project Rondon. Another is made, following this member of a dinner offered by President Sarney. Even in this company Member, visited once the Palácio do Jaburu, which allowed me to see the spot your extreme simplicity on the OUTSIDE, in contrast to the beauty of its shapes and strokes.

  • The visit was quick only can see from afar. It was rainy day and it was a Sunday afternoon, the access is monitored, is the typical place to take pictures and leave, surveillance is extremely rigorous. The Lake that lies between the Palace and the green field was dirty, a carelessness, a shame. But the view of the monuments is of beautiful architecture!

  • lindo lugar!!!
  • É lindo demais
  • Lugar lindo
  • Local agradavel
