(4.4/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Inaugurated in 1958, Igrejinha N.S. De Fatima church was the first masonry chapel to be built in Brasilia. Designed by modernist architect Oscar Niemeyer, the small, peaceful building resembles a nun's hat. Underneath the sweeping white roof, the walls are covered with brilliant blue tiles designed by Athos Bulcão, featuring a repeated white dove. Arrange to visit Igrejinha N.S. • Original environment, as it was designed at the beginning of the construction of the city of Brasília, remains active, with wide participation of citizens of the community. Its format is unique, according to the architecture of the city. Meet!!

  • The style of the old hat of copies Niemeyer nuns and angled lines to meet the promise of Dona Sarah in the construction of Brasilia: build a temple el memento of our Lady of Fatima. The interior in blue and some figures of reels from the second fresco of Mary follows the ages of the men (childhood symbolised by kites, adult by spring and ripe for Bengal), where all lines entwined and are protected in the robe of the Virgin. Previously these frescoes, attributed the Volpi, were covered poeminha white paint. The rediscovery in the restoration caused controversy, but fortunately the historic heritage prevailed. The outer tiles are the most inspired by Athos Bulcão in the city. The daily masses are the 18:30 h, except on Monday. Join to be able to look inside the small church.
