Rio do Peixe, Bonito

4.7
#1 of 20 in Outdoors in Bonito
Farm Waterfall
A leading destination for ecotourism and adventure, Rio do Peixe provides an unforgettable experience. Starting off from Fazenda Água Viva, a 3,218 m (2 miles) hike takes you on one of the most scenic routes in Bonito. The lush forest is impressive, but the main attractions are the numerous waterfalls, pools, and submerged caves formed along the river. Jump, dive, or zipline into the cool water, teeming with fish. Back at the farmhouse, after a delicious feast of local delicacies, the slightly eccentric owner “calls” brightly colored macaws and monkeys, which you can hand feed. • We spent a few days in Beautiful and was a little afraid to spend an entire day in the fish River, but it was sooooo worth it!! During the day we passed 10 points of bath, the landscape is beautiful, there are several attractions, such as: waterfalls, zip line, springboard, etc. lunch is included in the tour and also surprised! Feast on simple food, tasty and with several vegetarian options. There also various animals on site, as blue macaws and monkeys, all docile. Is a tour not to be missed!

  • Awesome place! Many waterfalls. Beautiful trail and easy to make, perfect nature! You have to dive in these rivers of Tyrolean aguas. The farm has a lot of monkeys and macaws blue! Amazing lunch with lots of varieties of salads and meats. The typical sweets are very very good! Our guide was the Rodrigo, great person and with much knowledge of the place. Note 10 for him. Cowes next trip

  • Very nice ride, nature is beautiful, it's not quite as in most beautiful tours. Be sure to bring a bathing suit even if it's raining or cold. Local food is hot.

  • One of the must-see tours in Bonito, the trails are easy, there are many waterfalls, trampolines, zip line, the fun is guaranteed, both for children, the elderly, and even for young adventurers! The breakfast was the best I've had in Nice!

  • One of the best tours of Nice. Several waterfalls, trampolines, zip line, observation of fish. At the end you can still take a picture with Lara (a blue ararara) and various monkeys.

  • Excellent ride. The more fun and interesting than I did in Bonito. Long trail but easy. Several waterfalls for shower and contemplation. There are parrots and monkeys used to tourists who appear to interact. Recommend bringing glasses/diving for fish in the clear water of the rio do peixe.

  • Amazing rides, friendly guides, a hammock area great for rest after lunch, which by the way is very sick and the best, in my opinion, is made in the wood-fired stove.

Where to stay in Bonito

The main town in Bonito provides a good range of accommodations to suit diverse tastes and budgets, with everything from luxury resort-style hotels to backpacker-friendly hostels dotting the gridded urban area. Heading east out of the main town, a few remote pousadas (guesthouses) lie along the course of the Rio Formosa. Pre-booking is essential, particularly during peak season (July and December to March), because of the relatively small number of options available for an ever-growing demand.
