Abismo Anhumas, Bonito
(4.7/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
Rappel into the darkness to discover cave life at Abismo Anhumas. Make a reservation for your rappeling adventure at least one month in advance, as tours are given in small groups. You will be provided with equipment and a guide who will take you to the mouth of the cave. You’ll rappel 72 m (236.2 ft) into the cave where you will put on your snorkeling gear and submerge yourself into the dark water for a swim. After you’ve observed the underwater species via headlamp--and your guide has given the lowdown on the cave ecosystem--you'll climb out of the cave up its jagged wall. It is worth the work for the exhilaration of exploring the watery underground the way the experts do. • This will stay with me for a long time. It's a thrilling rappel down into mother earth's spacious womb, to then dive or snorkel in the cool waters of this beautiful cave below. In December to February...  more »
  • Like everything in Nice, the tours are very expensive, and the "Abyss" is one of them; rappelling descent has 72 metres but is quiet (down every single help), the climb is a bit tiring and requires a reasonable fitness, but nothing too complicated. And to any detail you ask aid from the bailout and they help you climb easily (some people right down talked up as well). Once downstairs, you have two options (previously contracted) fluctuation or diving with oxygen (which is the most beautiful and highly recommend). All the equipments are up to date, I can tell that the staff's attention to security in practice both the rappelling and diving and taken seriously. In all the hostels and hotels that have travel agency prices are determined, what a shame but the reality is this. Another curious thing is that even though professional diving course, membership card and everything they "forced" (as in other excursions) to do the course before the dive of the trip. The explanation (or attempt) is that it is more on the safe side, which makes no sense, because if you're a diver and sign the disclaimer if assumes you know what you're doing; However quickly you'll find that it's just not to give any discount on the price to be paid. The visual of the abyss is the great feel of the place, it really is very beautiful. Recommend diving. Abyss: Abseiling and floating 700 $ Rappelling and diving 1030$ $

  • This is one of those unique places which I will never forget. I visited with my husband and 12-year-old daughter. Since training for the descent of abseiling the day before we were well received, well targeted, we had all the questions answered with patience and kindness throughout the team working in the abyss. Rappelling scares by the time but provides a single view of the entire cave. Be there, do the fluctuation in water and then a boat to see the training ... it's all worth it. The rise of return on rappelling is tiring but again provides a last view of the spectacle of nature that is this place.
