Perfect harmony between the shores of the sea and the river Guaratuba. Clean beach (both the sea and the river), with extensive range of fine sand. The left side is the Guaratuba River which is quite sought after by swimmers. Ideal for families with children, because the beach is straight that despite strong waves at the bottom (for those who know how to swim), does not present risks in the shallows. There are no kiosks on the edge, just ice cream vendors and some pastel tents closest to the river.

Where to stay in Bertioga

Most of Bertioga’s visitors are domestic tourists, many of whom have holiday homes in the area. When the owners aren’t enjoying a vacation, they rent out the properties, at what is often a very reasonable rate. These homes-away-from-home vary widely, ranging from studio apartments to luxurious villas. If you’d prefer to stay in a hotel on your vacation, consider any of a number of large establishments near the beachfront. Bear in mind that prices tend to increase the closer you get to the sea. Bed and breakfasts or inns, referred to as “pousadas,” are often more budget friendly.
