In addition to being an historic place, Fort St. John is located within the Brazilian Park. The place is quite simple, but the view is breathtakingly beautiful. Worth the visit.

A simple yet Museum where you can learn a little about the history of Bertioga and the Baixada Santista, in addition to view ancient objects and the pillbox and patio views of the fortress at the entrance of the canal of Bertioga. Access is somewhat limited to people with mobility difficulties, especially in the courtyard where the cannons and pillboxes. But it's worth the visit!

Where to stay in Bertioga

Most of Bertioga’s visitors are domestic tourists, many of whom have holiday homes in the area. When the owners aren’t enjoying a vacation, they rent out the properties, at what is often a very reasonable rate. These homes-away-from-home vary widely, ranging from studio apartments to luxurious villas. If you’d prefer to stay in a hotel on your vacation, consider any of a number of large establishments near the beachfront. Bear in mind that prices tend to increase the closer you get to the sea. Bed and breakfasts or inns, referred to as “pousadas,” are often more budget friendly.
