  • The story of Belterra is very interesting, because in 1934 was built by the visionary company Henry Ford, in an era of commercial expansion of the LaTeX, but its peak was short-lived due time the emergence of latex insektitsidov in Asian continent which brought down drastically the price of rubber in the world. The most interesting of this historic city are the architectural designs of the era which are preserved to this day, making it attractive for tourists, students and historians. On tourism in the region, you can tell it's precarious, because there is no infrastructure to receive visitors, does not exist any kind of tourist-focused Center.. There's not even public transport to drive visitors at beaches in the region and believe! There's not even a taxi in this cozy town It is regrettable! However, the city's locals and has a riquissíma story to tell and its native people are friendly and welcoming ...

  • City built by Americans to explore the rubber in the early 20th century. Today, some houses preserved, rubber trees and a tractor junk. Go to Pindobal beach.

  • In the fever of the rubber boom, Ford made an agreement with the Government to install a city to be United States natural rubber. For 60 years the city functioned smoothly. With the manufacture of synthetic rubber entrepreneurship was losing force. They left the village and houses, green and white employees. Having no technicians who maintain the factory and plantation the town was deteriorating. It is now a municipality and has Mayor. It has the air of American people, the houses are made of wood, painted green and white, with gardens and low fences. Many of them are abandoned or in poor condition. The streets are wide and tree-lined. It has an abandoned station, football stadium and village life. A little neglected and dirty. The route is of land and is not in good condition. Toward Santarém is paved. Many extensions of forest deforested, burnt. A pain to see the devastated Amazon.
