Parque Serra Do Curral, Belo Horizonte

4.7
#2 of 10 in Outdoors in Belo Horizonte
A symbol of the region, and the most prominent geographical feature of Belo Horizonte’s metropolitan area, Parque Serra Do Curral offers panoramic views of the city and the surrounding area. A rocky yet lush 1,035,995 sq km (103,599,500 ha) expanse of land, the park is ideal for long or short walks, and is a haven for those seeking a peaceful yet beautiful location. If you’re feeling adventurous, you might choose to take on the park’s challenging Crossing the Sierra trail, which involves some steep climbing and a high level of difficulty but offers significant sightseeing rewards to those willing to take on the challenge. Be sure to call ahead and reserve a place, and remember to bring a pack lunch as there's no food on sale in the park. the visit to the Park of the Serra do Curral is a sight for sore eyes! Can observe in all your BH extension is very cool. The nearby towns are also seen, which gives a great opportunity to get to know the region. The walk is super quiet, for there is the dirt road and some tracks (if you like). Worth the ride.

Spectacular view of BH, Nova Lima, Sabará, and vicinity. Vision on both sides of the saw. View of the forests preserved. A connoisseur sees the main BH points down. View from Confins airport, Mineirão and Independence. Splendid nature.

I went to the park with a friend and we were surprised with the view! Admission is free, the wide track, with various viewpoints and a very friendly staff. We don't have the habit of making tracks, but we love the experience. Well different from other places I've visited in the city, the Park brings us closer to nature. Is very worthwhile! For those who plan to go is good to use comfortable clothes and if it's dry shoes don't mess much or have a brownish hue color. My friend went with a tennis and finished the trail with him orange.

Where to stay in Belo Horizonte

Most of the city's accommodations lie within the inner ring road, in close proximity to the best attractions in Belo Horizonte. For convenience, look to stay in the vicinity of Praça Raul Soares, the city's central park and rotary. You can also find a range of high-rise hotels a bit farther south, in the neighborhoods of Boa Viagem and Savassi, close to Praça Diogo de Vasconcelos. About 10 km (6.2 mi) north of the city center, the 1940s neighborhood of Pampulha stands out as one of the most interesting places to visit in Belo Horizonte, and offers a decent selection of lodgings near the airport.
