Parque Serra Do Curral, Belo Horizonte
(4.8/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
A symbol of the region, and the most prominent geographical feature of Belo Horizonte’s metropolitan area, Parque Serra Do Curral offers panoramic views of the city and the surrounding area. A rocky yet lush 1,035,995 sq km (103,599,500 ha) expanse of land, the park is ideal for long or short walks, and is a haven for those seeking a peaceful yet beautiful location. If you’re feeling adventurous, you might choose to take on the park’s challenging Crossing the Sierra trail, which involves some steep climbing and a high level of difficulty but offers significant sightseeing rewards to those willing to take on the challenge. Be sure to call ahead and reserve a place, and remember to bring a pack lunch as there's no food on sale in the park. • The Serra do curral Park is beautiful, many plants and flowers of the cerrado, and for those who want to exercise is worth the hike up to the top where there is a beautiful view.

  • Is a program for those who like to walk and enjoy the nature by itself. Not enough to be an adventure, but the walk is quiet and the view compensates. There is a picnic area at the base of the Park and has toilets and cold water which is great. The tabs can take tourists up to the gazebo 10, but not only guides you can climb up to the lookout point 3. But you have to be attentive, guided tours are scheduled through the Internet and have alertable waits up to 1 month.

  • Beautiful park, with trails very well demarcated and easy (the day I was carried my daughters and nieces, aged between 6 and 19 years and all have risen quietly). The trail is free to anyone up to the lookout point nr 3, which gives a very cool visual of BH and surroundings. To complete the Ridge trail of Serra do Curral is only made with the Park Guide (free), but need to make an appointment by phone (the track was under maintenance, prediction of reopening on DEC 16). Is a program to do an outdoor activity to low cost, because the entrance is free and the Park is within the BH (Mangabeiras district). Just up the Afonso Pena Avenue to the end. Left goes to the Mangabeiras Park, turn right into the Park of the Serra do Curral. With this park within the city, you can't invent excuse is no hiking!
