  • Expect plenty of this market for your fame and tradition, but unfortunately it's dirty, unkempt, a horrible smell!!! This place deserves more respect and affection for what he represents for the city.

  • I expected more from this place, very dirty and stinky, I couldn't bring myself to buy anything there. I think it would be nice to keep the place clean.

  • Born in the 17TH century, where the Portuguese established a position of control and collection of taxes on goods carried Belém. This position was called Casa de Haver weight, where is controlled weights and measures and taxes charged after allowing the free sale. Then sets the fish market and the surrounding area grows by adding other goods can be found all kinds of fruits in the North of Brazil especially that arrive by the River complex which is the river Amazon and the confluent, in this market could find also a number varied handicrafts, seeds from fruits of the interesting biodiversity of the Amazon. Dried pork meat, and meat from cows, all kinds of flours, textiles and there are food stands that allow to know the flavors of this region. We tested the Tacacá, which is that the Indians ate and it is very tasty vegetable soup. This at the door of the region for the exit and entry of products by the waterway. With respect to security we went with very few things, and early in the morning.

  • An amazing place yet really dirty and not exactly safe. I got fake-stabbed by a crack kid who just wanted to let me know that he could have if he had wanted to but didn't, that was nice of him. So I fake smiled and moved on.
  • This is probably one of the most touristic place of the city. However I felt disappointed because this place is not anymore maintained. The traditional houses as well as the market is in poor conditions. Also be careful for your safety.
  • One of the truly great markets of the world. All of the Amazon laid out before you. Come. Enjoy. Be amazed.
  • Incredible!!! Safe and full diversity. Don't forget to visit the fish an meet markets.
  • A place to get boats for deep in Amazon river and good surrounding for your waiting time
