Forte do Presepio, Belem

(4.4/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web)
The panoramic views from the ramparts are alone well worth a visit to Forte do Presepio. Standing among the original canons, you can look out over Guajará Bay and witness, from a safe distance, the impressive flocks of vultures descending on Ver o Peso market. The fort itself is in the historic center of Belém and home to a small museum where you can take a tour and learn about the local history. A collection of ceramics and native Tupi and Marajoara artifacts dates from before the arrival of the Portuguese to the region. Using our online itinerary creator, Belem attractions like Forte do Presepio can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • The Nativity is one of the great sources of history and culture of the Pará.No space, we can see on the outside, a wide view of the River, as well as sculptures and surrounding canyons. Already inside, there are copies of the marajoara art, as well as relics of its past (some very curious, as a part of the excavation of the soil). essential for those who want to learn a little about the area.
