Espaco Sao Jose Liberto, Belem

4.4
#4 of 7 in Historic Sites in Belem
Experience the contradiction of Espaco Sao Jose Liberto an old prison turned into a very fancy museum showcasing gems from Pará. The beautiful space displays a wide range of riches from ceramics fond in Pará to indigenous gems like quartz, diamonds, amethysts, and other gemological treasures. Tour the permanent handcraft exhibition to see costume jewelry, clothing, ceramics, wood and perfumes. Then take a stroll out to the garden and fountain lined with crystals. Don’t miss a stop at the souvenir shop where you can buy interesting items and exotic chocolate. Interesting prison construction. Visiting interesting and diverse areas, we could see the work of goldsmiths and buy souvenirs.

Old Presidio San Jose Liberto, today's varieties of handmade jewelry. There are several shops and a cozy place to hang out, meet the history and contemplate a beautiful and historic architecture. In addition to shopping as: other, silver, handcrafted and others.

Nice place to take a walk. For those who like differentiated design of jewellery, worth checking out, why is Amazon region's theme and designers are very creative ... When there are exhibitions tmb are very tasteful. As for the regional articles are for sale there are of excellent quality, but is price for tourists, like "I didn't have time to go to the Ver-O-Peso nor in Icoaraci and need to take souvenirs for family and friends". Maybe it's less expensive than at the airport. Bathroom clean. All you can eat vegan salad (my experience). The highlight are the Sunday Circular dance, you are wonderful! Super recommend! Is a contagious joy! We're out of there! And it's free! Just arrive. Are two Sundays a month. For more details look for "Office Guy" on Facebook.
